Super Mario Sunshine is a Video game putting in scene an adventure of the character of Nintendo, Mario. He left on the Game console GameCube. He is the evolution of Super Mario 64 .

Synopsis

Whereas it is on the point of benefitting from peaceful holidays on the Île Delphino with Peach and Papy Champi, Mario is stopped because a criminal, under his appearance, ransacked the island by painting Graffiti S a little everywhere. Mario is condemned to clean the damage.

System of play

Super Mario Sunshine makes following Super Mario 64 , left in September 1997 concerned video in France. However, the two plays do not have any bond scenaristic. With the difference of Super Mario 64 , in Super Mario Sunshine , Mario has a Transformable Experimental Jerry can (J.E.T. ) on its back.

All the principle of the play is based on this point. This J.E.T makes it possible to project water in front of oneself, with the manner of a sprinkler pipe, and is used mainly to clean different the graffiti from the island, and to make disappear mud soiling the levels. It can be also used to kill certain enemies. But the J.E.T has other utilities depending on the tube used (Aérobuse, Catabuse, Turbobuse). Indeed, one can use, in addition to the Tube of watering, three different tubes: the first, Aérobuse, is available basic and makes it possible Mario to plane a short moment, the second, Catabuse, is used as vertical engine and makes it possible to make gigantic jumps, the third finally, Turbobuse is another kind of engine, but horizontal this time, giving to Mario the possibility of running as quickly as the flash, as much on the ground as on water (one can thus think as this tube makes it possible Mario to as quickly run as Sonic. The principle of the play is thus to alternate the various tubes according to the situation to reach new zones in the levels and to thus collect the maximum of suns. These suns are equivalent to stars of power of Super Mario 64 and play drank it is of all to obtain them. For that, it is necessary to go in the various places of the island and to achieve the goal indicated (to go to a place, to find the 8 parts red, to gain a race, etc). Each place is divided into 8 episodes, presenting each one its own objectives and thus giving access to a distinct sun. Other suns are apart from the places (on the Delfino Place, in the Corona Mount, or on the Airport) and are accessible according to manners which the player must discover.

Places

There exist 7 places which one discovers with the wire of the adventure. It are in the order:

  • Bianco Hills: First place of the play where one can learn the basic principles from the play. A quiet place, with its village and its mills.
  • Rico Port: Port area of the island with its ships, its cargoes… Its name is inspired by the town of Puerto Rico
  • Gelato-the-floods: A splendid beach where all is made to give up itself with the farnientes.
  • Parc Fucked: Amusement park located on an small island. In front of, it with the Beach Fucked there.
  • Siréna Beach: Beach where is located the Siréna Hotel, with its unforgettable sunsets.
  • Noki Bay: Place of habitat of Nokis, where the water cliffs and falls still resound of their history mystics.
  • Pianta Village: Last place of the play, where one can admire the Pianta houses built close to the giant trees.

With these one can add other zones where the player must go, like the Airport, the first place of the play, the Delfino Place, which is the central place of the play, or the Corona Mount, final test which is the reference mark of Bowser Jr. and of his/her father.

In each level, there are 8 suns to obtain with the various missions, plus 2 hidden suns, and the last while obtaining more than 100 parts. The Delfino Place counts as for it 38 suns, plus that of the 100 parts; it there of ace 1 in the Corona Mount; and finally there are 2 of them to obtain with the Airport.

There are thus 11 X 7 + 41 + 2 = 120 suns to entirely finish the play.

New characters

Super Mario Sunshine introduces new characters in the series, with two new species:

  • Piantas: These mountain dwellers are strong, sociable and curious. The trees on their heads protect them from the climate of the island.
  • Nokis: The shells which carry Nokis are the vestiges of time when they lived in the coral barrier.

It also appears in this shutter Bowser Jr., Antimario, and as well as very many usual recurring characters of the series, such Peach, Champi Grandpa, etc

Evolution of the play during its development

Between the first vidéos of the play, revealed with the public for the first time at Nintendo Space World 2001, and the final version, of many changes can be noted: certain monsters (as a biped which one can see on the video first of SpaceWorld 2001) were given up, the architecture of the Delfino Place was modified, the Affichage head high was also altered, as well as the logo of the play (the word Mario was to be much smaller than the word Sunshine). In addition, according to the magazine Famitsu, Super Mario Sunshine was to be in fact the Super Mario 64 2 awaited on Nintendo 64DD, and was related then to GameCube, where the concept of painting and " Terramorphing" (official term employee by Nintendo for the promotion of the play) was added.
