Benjamin Darbelet

Benjamin Darbelet , born the November 13rd 1980 with Dijon, is a Judo ka French evolving/moving in the category of less than 66 kg (semi-light weights). The bachelor of Dijonese club of Alliance Judo 21 is multiple European medal-holder (1 title in 2003), but forever successful to go up on the podium of a world competition. Thus, with the Olympic Games of 2004 with Athens, it is eliminated with the second turn by the future South Korean bronze medal Min Ho Choi. It however had to carry out a constraining mode to take part in the competition in a category of weight (- 60 kg) lower than his since Larbi Benboudaoud was preferred to him like holder in -66 kg.

Once again on the European podium and logically selected within the team of France for the World 2007 of Rio, Darbelet is however sanctioned by the disciplinary committee of the French federation a few weeks later. It was then reproached to him for not being invested sufficiently in its drive and its preparation. Initially private of his ticket for the world competition, the judoka sees himself finally reinstated in the selection after having proven reliable.
