Benicia
Benicia is a city located in the Comté of Solano, in California, with the the United States. Its population is of 26.856 inhabitants to the census of 2000. The city extends in the area from the Baie from San Francisco, close to San Francisco and Vallejo.
Geography
Benicia is located at 38°3 ′ 48 ″ NR, 122°9 ′ 22 ″ O.
According to the Office of the census of the United States, the city has a surface of 40,4 km ², including 33,4 km ² of ground and 7 km ² of water, are 17,31% of the total.
History
The city was selected between 1853 and 1854 like capital of the California. A capitole was thus built there, still visible today in the Benicia Capitol State Historic Park .
