Benetton B195
The B195 is a F1 of the committed stable Benetton during the season 1995, with the hands of Michael Schumacher and Johnny Herbert.
History
After the first title of the stable and German wonder Michael Schumacher, in 1994, under difficult conditions (disappearance of Ayrton Senna, charges of fraud…) all the glances go towards them for the confirmation. First change, the engine which will propel the single-seater of the Italian stable is not any more one block Cosworth but V10 Renault. Then lieutenant de Schumacher is not any more the Netherlander Jos Verstappen, replaced by Johnny Herbert. B195 was conceived by the duet fetish of Benetton: Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne, and is fitted by envelopes Goodyear.
As of starts season, Schumacher opens its meter of victories, after being party of the second position on the grid, behind the Williams of Damon Hill. Its best enemy will be thus still in string for the title, and proves it by gaining the two following races. Counteract of Schumacher, which allocates the two races according to doubled of the British.
Canada, the German must give up the victory over a mechanical problem, offering the first victory of his career, the day from his thirty and one years with Jean Alesi, over Ferrari. Schumacher will still be essential in France, Germany and Belgium, where he ridicules Hill while being maintained in front of him under the rain out of dry tires whereas the English fitted tires rain!
Herbert as for him asserted himself in Great Britain and Italy, substitute perfectly his leader. The end of season is triumphal for Schumacher, ensured of the title two races before term, since it signs four podiums in five Grands Prix, including three victories, carrying its total this season with nine successes, record of Nigel Mansell equalized.
Benetton is also crowned, with a beautiful margin, for the last season of the " dream team" (Schumacher, Brawn, Byrne) within the Italian stable, since Schumacher will join the Scuderia Ferrari at the end of the year, and that Brawn and Byrne will imitate it later one year.
