Benelli Tornado Tre
The Tornado Tre is a model of Motocyclette of the Italian manufacturer Benelli.
The first outline of Tornado is presented in 1999. In 2001, two machines run the world championship of Superbike. But should be awaited 2002 so that on sale the version approved is put to circulate on open road.
Marketing mainly scooters since the beginning of the Eighties, Tornado signs the return of Benelli the manufacturers of motor bike.
It is the work of the designer Adrian Morton.
The Tornado Tre L.E. (for Limited Edition) is the first with being marketed. It left only to 150 numbered specimens, for 36.000 €. It is only available with a gray and green dress.
The engine is one three cylinder on line, of 900 cm ³, supplied with injection electronic and given for 143 horses.
The radiator of cooling is placed under the saddle. The air is aspired to before then led to the radiator. It then is evacuated by two propellers located under the back hull.
The dry clutch uses a system antidribble, to avoid the blocking of wheel to the rétrogradage.
The framework calls upon a mixed structure mixing a tubular lattice on the part before and a back aluminum frame.
The reversed fork and the shock absorber come from the catalog Öhlins.
Braking is ensured by a unit Brembo including/understanding, with front, two discs of 320 mm and the clamps with four pistons, and with the back, a disc of 220 mm and clamps double pistons.
The forged aluminum rims come from Marchesini.
Following the example Ducati 916, the castor angle is adjustable and can vary from 22,5 with 24,5°.
The elements of body and the tank are out of carbon fiber.
It is immediately followed by a more accessible model, called Tornado Tre .
The power is slightly re-examined with the fall of 5 horses, while the weight is in rise of 13 kg. The dry clutch is replaced by an element functioning in oil.
It becomes financially more accessible since its price is brought back to 18.900 €.
In 2003 is presented the Tornado Tre RS .
The power is equivalent to that of the L.E., for 195 kg. It gains a small oil radiator and a shock absorber of direction. The clamps of brake are from now on with radial fixing.
The system antidribble of the clutch is adjustable according to the conditions of use of the machine.
It is sold 21.500 €.
should be awaited 2006 so that Tornado is altered. It returns equipped with the engine of 1 130 cm ³ (88 X 62 mm) which equips the roadster TNT, given for 163 horses to 10.500 tr/min and 12,4 mkg with 8.000 tr/min. This supplement of power makes it possible the Tornado news to be able to compete in performance with its Japanese competitors, R1 and 1000 CBR at the head.
The clutch functions dry while the fork gains 4 mms in diameter.
It is sold 14.980 €.
