Benedikt Taschen
Benedikt Taschen is a German editor , born the February 10th 1961 with Cologne. It is mainly known to have founded the Publisher Taschen Verlag in 1980.
The last born of an family of five children, it collects starting from the 12 years age all the objects related to the draftsman Carl Barks and discovers the trade by buying and reselling doubles.
As of before 20 years, it opens Taschen Comics in Cologne, a bookstore of cartoons of collection. In 1980, it begins the sale and the reprinting of works of Rene Magritte.
In 1985, it publishes a monograph on Pablo Picasso whose characteristic is due to the price: much less expensive than the art books the time. These monographs ensure the success of the Taschen editions since then.
