Benedetta Tagliabue
Benedetta Tagliabue (Born in 1963 with Milan, Italy) is an Italian Architecte, exerting with Barcelona.
It founds with Enric Miralles and continuous to hold their agency EMBT.
Formation
In 1980, Tagliabue studied one year with the Columbia University of New York. From 1981, she studies architecture with Venice and in common obtains her diploma in 1989 with a work with Diane Lewis of the Cooper Union on Central Park.
Professional life
It takes part in the project of agency Transbuilding and Gandelsonas-Agrest in New York in 1988, but moves in Barcelona where it works at Espinet-Ubach until 1990. It gains thereafter 2 prestigious prices of architecture. In 1993, it opens with her husband Enric Miralles the office EMBT, passage of Pau, with Barcelona. In 1998, they gain the contest for the Scottish Parlement.
In 1995, the office gains the Stirling Prize, the Grand Prix of Architecture, for the Scottish Parliament.
In 2001, it receives the price Delta ADI FAD for the bench Lungomare d' Escofet.
Private life
His/her daughter Caterina Miralles Tagliabue is born in 1995.Domenec Miralles Tagliabue is born in 1997.
July 3rd, 2000, Enric Miralles dies brutally of a brain tumor. Tagliabue would have said on this subject that the stress inherent in the project of the Parliament would have contributed to died of Miralles by masking the symptoms of its disease, if that is not the cause.
