Bending New Corners

Bending New Corners is the fourth album of the Trompettiste of Jazz French Erik Truffaz.

Characteristics

This album is characterized by a massive inclusion of influences drawn from Electronic musics such as the Drum & Bass or the Hip-hop, on the level of its rhythmic. The harmonies and melodies are sometimes jazz (Betty, siegfried, friendly fire), is very turned towards a its electronics ambient always near to low drum' N or theambient one (More, Less, Bending New Corners, Minaret).

Thus, with the pieces using a traditional instrumental formula (piano/double bass/battery/trumpet) one can see opposite pieces using a more electric instrumental formula (Fender Rhodos with Wah-wah and other effects of spatialization (panoramic, echo), Trompette very réverbée, low electric, battery).

Lastly, the texts slammés of the rappor Nya on limited an enough number of titles (Sweet Mercy, Siegfried, Bending New Corners, Friendly Fire) come to perfect the mixing of the styles carried out on this album.

The title “And” enclosing the album can be connected with a kind of recall, taking again environments of More and Minaret throughout its 10 minutes.
