Ben Jonson

Benjamin Jonson (June 11th 1572 - August 6th 1637) is a playwright English of the Renaissance. He is in particular known for his parts Volpone and the Alchemist and his friendship and his competition with William Shakespeare.
Biography
Jonson is born with Westminster, London. According to the poet, his family came in an original manner from the border between the Scotland and l" England, confirmed by the fact that its blazon carries three spindles or rhombuses, a currency divided by Johnstone of Annandale, which is in Dumfries and Galloway, in Scotland. The father of Ben dies one month before his birth, and his mother remarie two years after, with a Maçon out of bricks.
