Belouizdad

Belouizdad is a commune of the Wilaya of Algiers. It constitutes one of the districts of the city of Algiers.

Geography

The commune of Belouizdad is delimited in the east by the communes of Hussein Dey and Kouba, in north by the commune of Algiers-Center, in the west the commune of Sid Me hamed ex-Belcourt and in the south by the communes of El Magharia and Kouba.

  • It has a 1,6 km length littoral frontage. An green area with a restaurant constitutes there the only arranged part of bay of Algiers.

History

Belcourt was built on a marshy part of the plain of Algiers to the foot of the ravine of the wild woman and wood of the arcades. She owes her name with a colonization of Lyons origin.

The commune of Belcourt is not a industielle commune, it has especially a vocation of small shop and markets. However it counts some factories and warehouses:
