Belgischer Rundfunk
The Belgischer Rundfunk or BRF is a state enterprise in load of the public service of the radio and Télévision for the German-speaking Communauté of Belgium (Cantons of the East and Brussels).
Its equivalents are RTBF for the French Communauté of Belgium and VRT for the Flemish Communauté of Belgium.
History
October 1st 1945 begin with Brussels the first emissions from radio in German language on medium wave. In 1961, other emissions are carried out in short waves since Liege. The services of broadcasting of German language depend then on Belgian Radio-television (R.T.B.).Following the federalisation of the Belgium in the years 1970 and to the creation of three the Community S linguistics equipped with legal competences, the R.T.B is transformed into 1977 in Belgian Radio-Télévision of the French Community (R.T.B.F.) by the French Communauté of Belgium. February 18th, the German-speaking Communauté of Belgium founds the Belgischer Rundfunk (BRF) , center of broadcasting Belgian of the German-speaking community, whose seat is with Eupen, to ensure the services up to now reserved for the R.T.B.
In 1983, the radio programs extend to 2 p.m. from program per day and the BRF opens a regional studio with Saint-Vith.
In 1993, the BRF in common launches with BBC a radio program to Brussels and installs in 1995 the house of the radio in Eupener. Since October 1999, the BRF diffuses a magazine televised on the cable network of the German-speaking community. November 25th 2001 it launched on frequency 95,2 MHz to Brussels a Community program in partnership with the German state enterprise of broadcasting Deutschlandfunk (DLF).

Seats
The first head office of the BRF was the regional office of the RTB open to Eupen in 1975. In 1995, a very new seat is officially inaugurated in Kehrweg, always with Eupen. The open structure of the house of the radio offer of new possibilities of internal and external communication.
Services
The BRF operates two chains of radio and a chain of Télévision.
Radio
- BRF1 : chain with musical coloring pop-rock'n'roll disseminating mainly information, magazines, magazines musical (songs, traditional, jazz, etc) and cultural as well as emissions of entertainment.
- BRF2 : chain primarily diffusing German popular music and music of entertainment.
- BRF-DLF : in collaboration with the German radio station Deutschlandfunk.
- 100.5 Das Hitradio: Radio operator diffusing known popular musics or current German music, it emits only in the German-speaking area and a little in the area of Verviers on 100.5 FM.
Television
- BRF-TV : chain mainly devoted to the topicality regional and diffused exclusively on the cable network of the German-speaking Community.
