Belgian maritime company
The Belgian Maritime company ( CMB ), or in the past Belgian Maritime company of Congo , is an established group with Antwerp (Belgium) operating mainly in industry and the maritime transport.
The company was created in 1895 at the instigation of the king Léopold II, in order to provide a regular sea link between the Port of Antwerp and the Belgian colony of Congo, from where its first name. It gradually widened by absorbing the Belgian ship-owners Belgian Lloyd Royal (1930) and Armement Deppe (1960), then Bocimar (1982) and Hessenatie (1988), specialized in logistics and storage with the wearing of Antwerp. Originally under the bosom of the General society of Belgium, the group is since 1991 controls by the Almabo holding.
Its current fleet is made up of bulk carriers and ore tankers, of which the series of the Mineral , sailing under Belgian house.
