Begoniaceae
The Bégoniacées are a family of plants Dicotylédone S. It includes/understands 920-1450 Espèce S divided into 2 - 5 kind S ( Semibegoniella and Begoniella being currently gathered with the kind Begonia ).
They are generally herbaceous plants, generally succulent, perennial, often tuberoses, subtropics with tropical, mainly in tropical America. The kind Hillebrandia is represented only by only one species hawaiienne whereas the 13 species of Symbegonia are all originating in New Guinea.
A great number of decorative species come from the kind Begonia and are cultivated for their flowers and their foliages.
In traditional classification of Cronquist (1981) the family of the Loasacées was regarded as close relation of Begoniacées.
