Beer Bourbon

Of its true name Beer Bourbon , the Dodo is a Bière fair produced and marketed with the Réunion by the Brasseries of Bourbon, of which it is the first product, more known and more sold.

It is thus called in reference to the bird of the Mauritius now disappeared which has the appearance of a logo, a smiling dodo.

History

The receipt of Dodo was elaborate with the assistance of a Master brewer called Gerard Avanzini by that which founded the Brasseries of Bourbon in 1962, certain Stevenson.

First Dodo leaves the barrels the June 9th 1963. It is initially marketed under the name of Dodo-Pils in bottles of 75 Cl.

The drink takes the name of Beer Bourbon in 1970, but the change of identity is a failure, the customers continuing to resort to name dodo . The brewery then decides to communicate on this name however semi-official and to develop to the maximum the profile sympathetic nerve of the large bird which is reproduced on the label.

Also, this advertizing emblem with the bright colors appears today very often on the walls of the traditional small shops réunionnais accompanied by the slogan “ the dodo breadth the ”, which means “ Dodo is ” in here creole.

In the middle of the year 2005, a Musée with its glory was inaugurated by the producer with Saint-Denis, the House of the Dodo Beer.
