Beauvaisis

The Beauvaisis , Bellovaci is a small country of the Ancienne France, in the south of the Picardy and the north of the French Vexin. It had for chief town Beauvais, and principal cities Clermont, Liancourt, Fitz-James, Gerberoy, Boufflers, Beaumont. It belonged initially to the government of Picardy, then with that of the Île-de-France. It forms today part of the Département of Oise.
