Beautiful test (numismatic)

Beautiful test (or BE): quality characterizing a currency whose relief is chechmate and the bottom like a mirror; the name " Beautiful Epreuve" corresponds to English PRF (Proof) or to German PP (Polierte Platte).

It is a special striking carried out with sides new, preselected or machined especially, and with tools of striking (corners) also nine. In the majority of the institutes, these parts are struck with one by a coiner who checks the quality of each part after striking.

As of striking, the part is handled carefully and is locked up in a sealed packing, vacuum of air; it is the highest level of perfection and conservation in Numismatique.

In France, the boxes " Beautiful Epreuve" parts in francs exist since 1991; they replaced the boxes " Flowers of coin". Since 2002, the European institutes strike for the majority of them boxes euro BE; only Greece and the principality of San Marino never struck some.
