Beautiful Noiseuse

Beautiful Noiseuse is a French film of Jacques Rivette, left in 1991.

Synopsis

Nicolas, painter beginning, dream to meet his elder, celebrates it Edouard Frenhofer. Via Balthazar Porbus, a merchant of tables, it is introduced with Marianne, his partner, in the residence of Frenhofer.

This one takes them along in the workshop which he deserted and about Beautiful Noiseuse speaks to them, a table given up for 10 years, and for which his Liz wife had been used as model.

By mutual agreement, they decide that Marianne will be the beautiful news Noiseuse (a).

This one rebels against a decision taken without it, but the following day it is presented to the door of the house. During the five days of installation, the tension will go up between the various protagonists.

Nicolas is the young person Nicolas Poussin and Frenhofer his Master. The history occurs at the beginning of the XVIIe century, but Balzac, just like Rivette which replaced the action within a contemporary framework, speak here about artistic creation in general and its relationship with the imitation of the real model, a topic eternal.

The film is also known under the title Divertimento in its short version left in 1993.
