Andrew Ivan Beautiful , musician British born the April 25th 1964 with Peterborough, is the singer of the group Erasure.

Originating in the working medium, it is the elder one of a family of six children: it has four sisters and a brother. When it was born, his/her mother had only seventeen years and her father nineteen years.

In 1983, at the nineteen years age, Andy left its birthplace of Peterborough to go down to London. Hardly two years later, it met Vince Clarke with which it founded the group Erasure.

In 1989, the collected money of the success of Erasure enabled him to buy a villa with Majorque, in Spain, in which it resides always since.

Parallel to its activity within Erasure, Andy was illustrated in some solo projects. One will retain in particular his participation, in 1991, with the rock opera put in music by Peter Hammill “The Fall off the House off Usher” (" The fall of the Usher" house; , in French), in which Andy incarnated Montresor magistralement, one of the main characters of the part of Edgar Allan Poe.

Andy awaited October 2005, marking its 20 years of career as a singer of Erasure, to concretize an old dream: to leave a true album solo. Co-writing with Manhattan Clicks, this album is entitled Electric Blue and appeared on the label Sanctuary Records (Sony Music). It was preceded by individual the Crazy in September. Claudia Brücken (ex- Propaganda) lent its voice on 2 titles in duet with the singer, and Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters) on another title.

According to its own words, Andy Bell wishes to carry out its career solo without this one interfering with that of Erasure of which it will continue to ensure the song, as it always did.
