Bears de Hershey

The Bears de Hershey (Bear of French Hershey) is a frankness from Hockey of the American Ligue of hockey. The frankness is Hershey in Pennsylvania and plays in GIANT Center. The club is affiliated with the Capitals of Washington of the National league of hockey.

History

The hockey in Hershey dates from the Thirties. The first match was played the February 18th 1931, when the university of PEN A.C. faced that Villanova in the skating rink of the town of Hershey (Convention Hall/Ice Palace). The first team is called officially Hershey, its skating rink was a.C. of Swathmore and date of the season 1931-32. All the matches played by the team were it in front of a many and faithful crowd. Milton S.Hershey and John B.Sollenberger then decided to inject capital in the frankness in order to make it live. The following season, the team (Hershey B' ars) joined the league of amateur of hockey and regularly played of the matches against close teams (Baltimore, Atlantic City and Philadelphia for example).

In 1938, the Bears join officially the American Ligue of hockey after having changed name into 1936 (the name B' ars was criticized too much and according to some too commercial) and to have had a new skating rink the December 19th 1936: Hersheypark Arena.

For this time, more than seven hundred players have proudly carried the shirt of Bears de Hershey.
