Bear lippu

the bear lippu ( Melursus ursinus ) is a species of Ursidé tropical areas. It meets in the forest areas of the Indian sub-continent, of the the Himalayas to the Sri Lanka.

Like the Bear with glasses, it does not hibernate, but slows down its activity during the periods of strong rain. Its food mode comprises primarily insects (it is a large consumer of Termites), larvae, and to a lesser extent of eggs, plants and honey. Its anatomical characteristics, long lips to grab the insects, frayed language, nostrils being blocked at will, absence of upper incisors to aspire, show an adaptation to an insectivorous mode. Very noisy when it is nourished, one can hear it several away kilometers.

The period of gestation extends from the end of spring at the beginning of the summer and the bear cubs are born during the winter. The young people accompany their mother until the age by 2 or 3 years and the male is rather well tolerated within the ourse groups - bear cubs. The mortality of small by the males is some thus decreased.

The Baloo bear of cartoon film Disney the Book of the Jungle is a bear lippu. Formerly, the bear lippu was l'" bear jongleur" circuses.

One estimates the number of bear lippus at approximately 7.000 to 10.000 individuals but this figure is declining constant because deforestation continues to reduce their habitat, which is worth to them to be classified CONSIDERING (vulnerable) on the red list of UICN.
