The beans (of the Nahuatl ayacotl by crossing with the verb harigoter ) form the kind Phaseolus , which belongs to the family of the Fabacée S. It gathers Plante S herbaceous annual originating in Central America, whose most known common Haricot is the cultivated like Légume in all the moderate and hot areas of the sphere. It includes/understands approximately 80 species.

At the Amerindian S of North America, the beans constitute one of the three cultures, practiced traditionally, called the three sisters.
