Beach-volleyball
The Beach volleyball or volley ball of beach is a collective sport opposing two teams made up of two players, separated by a net, clashing with a balloon which they return using the hands. This sport is a derivative of the Volley-ball. The principal differences between these two sports are that the beach volleyball is played in general outside on a ground covered with sand and that each team is made up of two players.
Origins
The beach-volleyball makes its appearance with Santa Monica in California in the Années 1920, then is propagated in Europe in the following years. It is only in the Années 1940 that first tournaments are organized in Santa Monica and always at the same place one tried in the Années 1960 of professionaliser this sport by setting up a championship which was fallen through while a tournament was organized in France. Starting from the Years 1970, some tournaments were set up on the Californian coast, financed mainly by companies of Bière and Cigarette S, then in the Années 1980 Hermosa Beach (in California) decided to exploit the potential and the attraction of this sport to develop it and to trace lines on sand to delimit the ground.Although the history of the beach volleyball is long, this sport professionnalisa that starting from the last Années 1990 and beginning 2000 when he knew a great popularity and a better media exposure, this thanks to its introduction to the program of the Olympic Games (initially like sport of demonstration in 1992 with Barcelona then Olympic sport in 1996 with Atlanta, recognized by CIO in 1993) and to the emergence of large players such as Karch Kiraly, Sinjin Smith, Kerri Walsh or Misty May.
The nations which dominate this sport since decades are the the United States and the Brésil, caught up with by the Australia recently, but thanks to a development of tourism of the new nations emergent like the Greece, the Germany or the Popular republic of China.
To note that the beach female volleyball has more success than that of the men.
Rules
- Each team is made up of two players (prohibited replacement) evolving/moving on a ground (16m X 8m) and the net has a height identical that to the Volley-ball (2,43m for the men, 2,24m for the women).
- One marks a point on each played balloon. The team which marks the point also gains the right to be useful.
- the match is played in two gaining sets (the first which arrives at 21 points gains the set with two points of variation), the third set (tie break) is played him in 15 gaining points.
- the teams change side all the 7 points (5 points in tie break).
- Each team has three contacts before sending the ball at the adversary. Each contact, to be regular, must consist of a clear striking of the ball. With this rule, one distinguishes mainly 2 exceptions: at the time of a ball of struck attack, the defender can hold the balloon a short moment in his fingers. To against also, the contacts between 2 adversaries can bring to a held balloon, which is then not regarded as a fault.
- to send the balloon in a regular way at the adversary, it is essential that the balloon is struck. Thus, the balls of attacks placed of the end of the fingers are regarded as faults.
- With the difference in the play in room, a key of ball at the time of against is counted as a key, and does not equip it does not have then any more but 2 keys to return the balloon at the adversary. However, the second key can be carried out by the player having realized against.
- the balloon can be struck with any part of the body (in general, they are the hands and front armlever). Compared to the balloon of room, it heavier, is less inflated, and must be bright colors to be easily visible.
- Only one attempt at service is allowed.
Signals with the hands
One of the main features of this sport is the use of the signals made using the hands at the time to be useful, indeed the player who is not useful puts himself at the net, puts the hands in his back (so that the adversary does not see it) and indicates to its fellow-member which strategy to adopt.
