All the characters are fictitious, except for Theresa Chan, a blind and deaf woman whose courage and life inspired film.
Presented to the 58ème Cannes festival (2005) in the section About fifteen the realizers, the scenario writer had already presented 12 Storeys in 1997 in the section a Certain Glance.
