The club bears the name of one of the district of the city.

History

August 1st Create in 1903 with Istanbul, the first colors of the club was the red and the white , but following the defeat of the War of Balkans in 1913, and in memory of the Othoman soldiers died in the face, the leaders decided to change them, from now on they will play in black and white . The emblême of the club is a black Aigle since a famous football game of 1933 Beşiktaş- Fenerbahçe or the players of the club very of black vêtus besieged the unfavourable penalty area during all the part, at the end of the match everyone said the same thing: they attacked like Eagles, black Aigles .
