Beït-Keshet

Beït-Keshet ( ביתקשת ) is a Kibboutz located into Low Galileo, with 2km of the road connecting Kfar Tabor to Ilania, in Israel. It is founded in 1944 by members of the Palmach. The name of the kibbutz (" House of the flèche") in the biblical paragraph of the Second book of Samuel refers (1).

At the time of the War of Independence, the members of Beït-Keshet take part in many combat, and have to overcome the loss of several as of theirs. March 16th 1948, they assemble an action of reprisals against the tribe Bedouin E neighbor, person in charge of organized assassinations members of the kibbutz, and where will fall 18 combatants originating in Beït-Keshet. This operation shows 60 victims among the Arab and a hundred casualties. It is around Beït-Keshet that the decisive operation Dekel for Israel takes place, in July 1948.
