The conference of Bilderberg is an annual conference which, since 1954 (and whose idea goes back to 1952), joins together on invitation approximately 130 personalities of the Affaires, academic or policies of various countries. Its members, of the politicians, the Industrial S, and the Banking S, are called themselves the “ Bilderbergers ” or “ group Bilderberg ”.

The initial objective of the group would have been, in the context of the Cold war, to strengthen the co-operation between the the United States and their european partners, in particular via NATO |May 11th, 2007 . Also, because of the very confidential character of the conferences and of its not-mediatization, the group was regarded a long time by certain as a Secret society. One reproaches him antidemocratic possibilities of decisions which could be taken by such a powerful group. It remains always today one of the files of the conspirationnism. Since the fall of the Soviet empire, one reproaches in particular this powerful lobby the orchestration of the economic Mondialisation.

Foundation

The organization would have been initiated in 1954, is financed by the Multinationale Dutchwoman Unilever and the CIA. The first meeting would have been held in May 1954 with the hotel Bilderberg with Oosterbeek (Netherlands), from where its name. The group has offices with Leyde with the Netherlands.

Organization

The Bilderberg group would be composed in three concentric circles:

the Bilderberg Advisory Committee (“advisory committee”) is the most central circle. It includes/understands ten members.
the Steering Committee (“steering committee”) is a circle slightly less closed than the first. It consists of approximately 35 members, exclusively European and American.
the “circle external” is rather broad and includes/understands 80% of the participants in the meetings.

The Bilderberg group gathers annually, at a one 4 days duration meeting, approximately 120 personalities of all the countries: leaders of politics, economics, finance, the media, the persons in charge of the army and/or the secret services, like some scientists and academics|May 11th, 2007

A list of the participants as well as the topics approached would be available near the secretariat of the group. A summary report of the meeting is also written, seems it, as let it suppose these bonds (,) and the presence of “rapporteurs” on the official list of the participants. This report/ratio would be sent at the conclusion of each meeting to the large world decision makers|May 11th, 2007

Modus operandi

For the citizen lambda, it is very difficult even impossible to know in advance the place or the object of the meeting:

the selected hotel is entirely emptied of any other customer; the safety is partly ensured by the forces about the host country.
No press conference takes place.
the discussions are held with door-close.
It is interdict in Bilderbergers to take notes or to make statements with the press.

The discussions held within the group are organized in order to obtain a consensus among the members, without having to resort to a vote nor with the adoption of unspecified resolutions. Standing and the influence held by the participants are such as if a consensus is formed around a project of action, this one could be carried out more easily and more quickly.

Some think that each annual meeting (officially only) is prolonged by many contacts restricted between members of sub-commissions, on a particular problem concerning a precise point, the whole being organized in beams gathered at the higher level|May 11th, 2007

The conference took place from May 24th to 27th, Commune of Stenungsund, in Sweden

2002

The conference took place from May 30th to June 2nd in the United States, State of Virginia, close to Washington to Westfields Marriott hotel|May 11th, 2007

2003

The meeting took place in France from May 15th to 18th, with the Château of Versailles which was closed with the public during one week. According to Pepe Escobar of the Asia Times , Jacques Chirac made a speech of welcome the first day.

2004

The meeting 2004 of the Bilderberg group proceeded from June 3rd to 6th (right before the meeting of G8) with Stresa in the north of the Italy close to the Swiss border, in a de luxe hotel on banks of the Lake Maggiore, the " Large Hotel of the Borromées" Islands;.

2005

In 2005, the meeting was held from May 5th to 8th, in Bavaria. This one was prepared by the Steering committee including/understanding Josef Ackermann Deutsche Bank, Jorma Ollila of Nokia, Richard Perle (former adviser of the Pentagon), Vernon Jordan (confidant of former president Bill Clinton), Jürgen Schrempp of DaimlerChrysler, Peter Sutherland of Goldman Sachs International, Motorola, Daniel Vasella of Novartis and James Wolfensohn of the the World Bank; among others were awaited Henry Kissinger, Natan Sharansky and Bernard Kouchner, according to the '' Financial Times '' of the 1 {{er}} May.

This year, a Spanish political commentator, Daniel Estulin, would have succeeded in infiltrating the meeting.

2006

The conference took place from June 8th to 11th in Brookstreet Resort a few kilometres from Ottawa, in Canada. The topics of discussions were the euro-American relations, energy, Russia, Iran, the Middle East, Asia, terrorism and immigration.

2007

The meeting 2007 of the Group of Bilderberg took place with Istanbul (Turkey), from May 31st to June 3rd, Ritz-Carlton of Istanbul. And had like main subject according to echoes of the Web and media, the accelerated entry of Turkey in the European Union.
