Bay of Hangzhou

The bay of Hangzhou is a bay of the China Sea Eastern, bordered by the province of Zhejiang and the municipality of Shanghai and where the river Qiantang runs out.

This bay extends to the south from Shanghai and at the bottom of the latter the town of Hangzhou is. Several collectively named small islands the islands Zhoushan bathe in its water.

The bay known because is produced there most important Mascaret of the world, high of more than 9 meters and advancing with more 40 km/h. This last is particulierment high in the middle of the autumn and several thousands of tourists come to see it on the banks.

The second longer bridge of the world and the longest maritime bridge is in the course of construction in bay. It will connect is Zhejiang (Nigbo) with Shanghai reducing the distance from 400 to 80 kilometers.
