Bay of Frobisher

The bay of Frobisher is an arm of the Mer of long Labrador of approximately 230 Kilomètres, located at the south-east of the island of Baffin. It is named according to the English explorer of the 16th century Martin Frobisher, which explored it during its voyages to the research of the Passage of the North-West.

The Capital of the Nunavut, Iqaluit, known under the name of Frobisher Bay until in 1987, is at the bottom of this bay.
