Baudouin II of Hainaut
Baudouin II of Flanders , born towards 1056, died in minor Asia in 1098, was count de Hainaut of 1071 with 1098. It was wire of Baudouin VI, count de Flandre and of Hainaut, and Richilde, countess of Hainaut.
He still adolescent with had died of his father and his/her mother exerted regency in the name of her older brother Arnoul. But the ambitions of his/her mother and her tyrannical government caused at the end of one year a revolt which degenerated into civil war. Arnoul was killed in a battle close to Cassel and Robert the Clippings, uncle de Baudouin and of Arnoul, became count de Flandre. Baudouin succeeded his brother as count de Hainaut. Richilde obtained from the assistance of the bishop of Liege, from which she had recognized herself vassal for Hainaut, but Hennuyers were again overcome in Broqueroie. Baudouin had to give up the Flanders in 1085.
In 1095, at the time of the call of Urbain II with the Council of Clermont, it took the cross to leave to the First crusade. Antagonism with the count of Flanders made that he united rather the army of Godefroy de Bouillon than that of Robert II of Flanders. After the catch of Antioche, it was sent in embassy to Constantinople with Hugues I {{er}}, count de Vermandois. It surprised, was attacked and killed in a Turkish ambush near Nicée.

He married in 1084 Ide of Leuwen (1077 † 1139), girl of Henri II, count de Louvain and of Brussels and Adele de Betuwe. They had:- Baudouin III (1088 † 1120), count de Hainaut

- Richilde, married about 1115 (separate in 1118) with Amaury IV of Montfort (1063 † 1136), count d' Évreux
- Alix, married to Nicolas II of Rumigny (1085 † 1153)
