Battle of the port del Buceo

naval Battle delivered of the 14 to the May 17th 1814, during the war of independence of Uruguay.

Episode of the seat of Montevideo by the Argentinian ones and the Uruguyan freedom fighters, it sees the victory of the fleet of Buenos Aires ordered by the admiral of Irish origin Guillermo Brown over the Spanish squadron of Gift Miguel of Sienna. Decisive battle, it ensures the complete surrounding of Montevideo, whose garrison, without any hope to be helped, will capitulate the June 20th 1814.
