Battle of the Thousand-Islands
The battles of the Thousand-Islands was delivered 16 to the August 24th 1760 upstream of the Fleuve the St. Lawrence, in the Archipel of the Thousand-Islands, between the Britanniques and the French. It belongs to the North-American theater of the Guerre Seven Year old.
At the time of the battle, the small French garrison of the Fort Lévis resisted the British army, much more, during more than one week, managing to destroy two British men-of-war and to damage a third of them. This resistance delayed the British advance towards Montreal, in the west.
