Battle of Schooneveld
The battles of Schooneveld were two naval battles of Guerre of Holland which proceeded on the coasts of the Netherlands the 7 and June 14th 1673 between a fleet Franco-English, ordered by the Prince Rupert, and the fleet of the United Provinces, ordered by Michiel de Ruyter. The victories of the Dutchmen in the two battles, and to the battles of Texel which followed in August, saved the Netherlands of a Franco-English invasion.
