Battle of Ristigouche

the battle of Ristigouche was a naval battle of the end of the Guerre Seven Year old, between elements of the Royal Navy and a small flotilla sent of France to relieve the News-France, after the fall of Quebec. Driven back by the British in the Bay of Heats, the French, under the control surface of Giraudais sailed further inside the mouth of the river Ristigouche, hoping that having a deeper tie, the British boats would not follow. When this tactic proved to be ineffective, Giraudais turned its flagship, Machault on his side, it went down again downstream some of its goƩlettes to prevent the passage, and fought them in Bay. After 6 days, Giraudais scuttled two of its boats precipitately and fled far in wood. After having heard of the fall of Montreal a few weeks later, the small French force went.

Today, a museum commemorates this event with Point-with-the-Cross.
