Battle of Myong-Yang
The battles of Myong-Yang (KB '' 명량대첩 '' in Hangeul, hj '' 鳴梁大捷 '' in Hanja, rv '' Bulmyeolui Lee Soon-shin '' in revised romanisation) is a naval Bataille of the Guerre Imjin having opposed the Japanese and Korean navy the October 26th 1597 in the Détroit of Myong-Yang. The Korean fleet ordered by the admiral Yi Sun-sin gained a decisive victory in spite of its strong numerical inferiority. It had only 13 ships vis-a-vis 333 Japanese ships including 133 warships. Japanese underwent heavy losses and beat a retreat leaving the quasi-intact and victorious Korean fleet. This battle is regarded as one of the more important facts of weapons of the admiral Yi Sun-sin and made following the Bataille of Chilcheollyang which saw the almost destroyed Korean fleet.
