Battle of Mullaitivu (1996)

Battle delivered the July 18th 1996 between the freedom fighters tamouls of LTTE and the troops governmental sri lankaises.

Attacking by surprised the base of Mullaitivu, the freedom fighters tamouls gain a great victory over the troops of Colombo. Almost the whole of the garrison is massacred (1200 killed out of 1400 men) by the attackers who seize moreover enormous spoils of war.
