Battle of Magenta
The battles of Magenta was held the June 4th 1859 during the countryside of Italy and resulted in a victory free - Sardinian led by Napoleon III against the Autrichiens from the marshal Ferencz Gyulai.
It took place close to the town of Magenta in the north of the Italy. The army of Napoleon III overflowed the Austrian army by the line, forcing it to beat a retreat. The battle of Magenta was not particularly large but it was a decisive victory for the forces free-Sardinians. Patrice of Mac-Mahon (1808 - 1893) was named Duc of Magenta for his role in the battle, and was later President of the French Republic.
