Battle of Large Beeren
The battles of Large Beeren , took place the August 23rd 1813, (in Blankenfield, Großbeeren, and Sputendorf) with about fifteen km in the western south of Berlin within the framework of the war of the Sixth coalition, between the French army ordered by the marshal Oudinot and the Prussian forces under the orders of the marshal Bernadotte become crown prince to Sweden
Context

The battle

Guilleminot general

Generals Girard and Hirchfeld
In the time when the combat of Large-Bereen was delivered, a division had left Magdeburg, under the orders of the Girard general to join.The 27, this column fell in the middle of the Russian avant-garde in Belzig. The French infantry have initially the advantage; but while it was with the catches with the troops of the Hircheld general, who yielded the ground to him, it was turned and wrapped by the cossacks of Czernichef.
A great disorder followed. The Girard general was wounded, and its column could return to Magdeburg only by leaving 800 prisoners and six guns.
