Battle of Landshut
The Bataille of Landshut took place the April 21st 1809, between the allied armies of France, Württemberg (VIIIe Corps) and of Bavaria (VIIe Corps) under the orders of strong Napoleon of approximately 77.000 men, and the 36.000 Autrichiens of the General Johann Hiller. It ended in a French victory.
Course of the battle
The battle started with the retirement of the Hiller General and his 36.000 men following the Bataille of Abensberg. The commander of the French forces, the marshal Lannes launched out to the continuation of Hiller, thinking that it could destroy most of the Austrian Army. Accompanying the force under the orders by the Lannes marshal, 57.000 men under the orders of the marshal Masséna moved to intercept Hiller and to prevent it from escaping. The Austrians, although numerically exceeded, savagely fought until the arrival of Napoleon Bonaparte, as from this moment, the French victory was not more doubts.
Losses
The Austrians lost approximately 10.000 men like 30 guns.
