Battle of Kolin
The battles of Kolin is a battle of the Guerre Seven Year old, which was held with Kolín (approximately 50 kilometers in the east of Prague), the June 18th 1757.
The Austrians, ordered by Daun, inflict a serious defeat with Frederic II of Prussia.
The cavalry saxonne of the Nastiz general plays a determining role there by decimating the Prussian infantry.
With the battle of Kolin, the Walloon regiment which was as regards winner, had like currency “Gather thistles, expect prickles”. Their standard represented a sheet of Houx.
