The Bataille of India Muerta is a Bataille delivered the November 19th 1816, during the war of independence of the Uruguay, during the second Portuguese invasion of the country (1816 - 1820). The battle fields where the combat was delivered locates in the current department of Rocha.
The victory was gained by the Portuguese troops, ordered by the sergeant Serpa Pintos de Araujo Correa, over the Eastern troops (Uruguyan) of the general Fructuoso Rivera.
