Battle of Hulluch

The battles of Hulluch is a battle which proceeded April 27th with the April 29th 1916, opposing the 16th Irish division of the 19th British Army corps to the German troops , within the framework of the First World War.

The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers undergoes, in the night of the April 27th, an important attack with the Mustard gas close to the village of Hulluch, held by the Germans, with 2 kilometers in the north of Loos.

Other units of the 16th division, including/understanding the Royal Irish Riffles, Royal Munster Fusiliers and The Royal Dublin Fusiliers were called to avoid the German attack.

The April 29th, the Germans sent gases again, but this time the wind blew towards them rabatant gases on their trenches, and paralyzing a great number of them.

The battle of Hulluch was one of the battles of the First World War where one used more gas.
