Battle of Fleurus (1690)

The battles of Fleurus took place on July 1st, 1690. It was a victory for the French Army ordered by the marshal of Luxembourg against the armies of a coalition gathering the United Provinces, the Impériaux, the Spain and the Great Britain ordered by the Général German Waldeck. The France lost 3  000 men, whereas the allies lost 9  000 men.

The French artillerists had drawn on their regiments from infantry of which they had not identified the colors. All the flags accepted, like common distinctive sign, a white scarf tied at the top of the pole.

The French troops were under the command of the duke of Luxembourg, of the duke of Boufflers, the duke of Maine, the duke of Choiseul, the Large-Prior of Vendôme, and of the Prince de Conti
