Battle of Cedynia
The battles of Cedynia was held the June 24th 972 (or 979).
It is the oldest battle mentioned in the documents concerning the Histoire of Poland. The chronicles of Gallus Anonymus and Thietmar mention this battle.
The Polish, led by Mieszko Ier and his/her Czcibor brother, crushed the Brandenburger army of Odo I {{er}}, the Margrave of Lusace (the Marche of the East saxonne), which had crossed the Oder. This victory made it possible Poland to make safe its Western border.
After the Second world war, a monument commemorating this battle was set up with Cedynia.
