Battle of Camlann

The Bataille of Camlann is the last battle to which the King Arthur would have taken share.

The search of the Graal ended for some time and Arthur lost most of its knights. It was betrayed by his wife Guenièvre who escaped with Lancelot. It is this moment that Mordred chooses to go up on the throne of Arthur.

The two men surrounded by some knights find themselves in Camlann, where Arthur has always the hope to solve the conflict in a friendly way. Whereas they are face to face, one of the knights fires his sword after being bitten by a snake, it is the involuntary release of the hostilities. At the end of the day, Mordred wounds Arthur before this last does not kill it.

After having entrusted its sword Excalibur to Bedivere so that it throws it in the lake, Arthur is brought in the island of Avalon by four women, of which the Fée Morgane and the Dame of the Lake.

---- The archeologist Leslie Alcock date the battle of Camlann in 490 after JC.

Certain historians locate Camlann in the plain of Salisbury, in the south of the England.
