Batoufam

Batoufam (Tswefap in local language) is a village of the district of Bayangam, in the department of the Koung-Khi, (Province of the West (Cameroun)).
It is located at 291km Douala, 288km of Yaounde and 25km of Bafoussam.
The village consists of 12 districts: Tsengui, Chila, Mbé, Ndeptse, Toula, Kaptchié, Tsep, Nkamke, Nkasse…
The close villages are: Bayangam, Bandrefam, Bangoua…

History

Whereas the Badrefam kingdom lived its apogee, there was an inversion of the dynasty to the capacity by two twin brother. One of them took the throne, and to make peace with the King of Bandjoun which had not supported it, it offered to him in marriage his/her daughter accompanied by the first wire of his/her brother, Nayang. This last, grows in its news Chefferie, then deserted with a good colony from the kingdom from bandjoun. It met thereafter people and the USA of his wisdom to become the supreme leader about it. It opened thereafter the doors of its kingdom to all the deserters and excluded from the other kingdoms of the west. They settled then close to a river. It is this regrouping which will become the Batoufam people thereafter.

Populations

Batoufam has a population of approximately 30.000 inhabitants, who live for the majority in districts of dwelling and the plantations. the people batoufam would count more than 100.000 people, who live for the majority in the big cities such as Douala, Yaounde and bafoussam.

Economy

The people batoufam saw primarily culture and breeding. However one also observes an increase in small businesses; Batoufam has a Community bank local MC2.

Health

The integrated health center of batoufam was creates since 1992, it has at its head a Male nurse, who accompanied by three others, ensures the supply of the medical care the populations

Associations

Several associations working for the development of the village batoufam are established a little everywhere in Cameroun and in the diaspora. it is the case for example CODEBAFAM, COFEEBA, ACEBE which gathers all the nationals Batoufam d' Europe and account approximately 120 active members, etc. Batoufam youth is gathered around the COOFEBA, which has antennas in almost all the big cities of Cameroun. To Yaounde, for example, after a few years of inactivity, it from now on is directed by NGUENANG Bernard louis, which initially set up a think tank called the CREBAY.

Communications

A monthly press agency " the Batoufam" Platform; based in Douala, each month of information produces on the village batoufam. It is an emanation of association STOCK. The newspaper is directed by a team of volunteers. Its editor association NIM is one of the figures of the development of the communication with Batoufam like Alain Roger FOTSO HOBBY-HORSE
