Differences with the Comics
Can contain spoilers.
-
the main character Rachel Dawes (incarnated by Katie Holmes) and all that is attached to it were invented for the needs for film.
- the Asile of Arkham is usually not located at the right in the middle of a district as it is the case in film, even if the island on which it is well attached to the city by drawbridges.
- Crane is not member of the Asile of Arkham also, although that would have rained to him much in the comics.
- Lucius Fox does not know in the comics that Bruce Wayne is Batman whereas here he guesses it. Moreover, it is not either a doubled expert in technology of a biologist but a very good manager of company (what it becomes at the end).
- One can note the presence of Mr. Zsasz (incarnated here by Tim Booth), a recurring enemy of Batman, become for this film a henchman of Carmine Falcone.
- the League of the Assassins directed by Ra' S Al Ghul was famous Ligue Shades. Moreover, Ducard is not one of its members in the comics but a simple French bargain hunter who will involve Bruce Wayne.
