Batiscan
Batiscan is a Municipalité Quebec located in the regional Municipalité of county (MRC) of the Channels and the administrative area of the Mauricie.
Denomination
In the beginning municipality of parish of Saint-François-Xavier-to-Batiscan at the time of its constitution in 1855 which corresponds to the original municipal cutting of the Quebec, it changed its name into municipality of Batiscan in 1986 for better conforming with use.
Administration
Forming part in the beginning of the county of Champlain, Batiscan is incorporated in the regional municipality of county of Francheville in 1982. In 2002, it is included in the regional municipality of county of the Chenaux.
