Bathing suit a part

The Bathing suit a part covers the body of the basin to the shoulders with the mainère of a body. There are various more or less indented models and more or less covering (including the bodystrings which does not recover the Fesse S) but the majority of the one-piece swimsuits are intended for the sporting practice than with the Bronzage.

They are products of high technology designed for one to bring a maximum comfort at long training sessions and to allow a good penetration in water while avoiding the formation of “pockets of water” which constitute a gene for the swimmer. In same optics, the size of the shirt on the level of the Leg S, shoulder S and Dos is optimized to allow best possible freedom of movement.

For the competition, more and more of swimmers and even of swimmers use combinations covering the body of the head to the foot S. But such shirts are not appropriate for the prolonged drives.

Evolution of the one-piece swimsuit

Until the medium of the Years 1970, the bathing suits used by the women for the drive and the competition were not very practical. If that did not pose a problem in the field of equity (all swimmers being placed with the same sign), the variation of performance between men and women was more important than today.

The first progress intervenes with the invention of the Lycra by Dupont de Nemours: from now on, the shirts stick to the skin.

Starting from 1978, the firm Arena, then subsidiary of Adidas, decides to innovate on the level cut of the shirts. Will appear successively:

  • the freeback which releases the shoulders by adopting the strap S.
  • the flyback which improves the principle by adopting the concept of opening in the back and the high notch on the level of the thighs.
  • the super flyback appears with OJ of Moscow in 1980. It appreciably improves the flyback by removing the side seam and by creating a back of only one holding. Marketed in 1981, it is quickly adopted by the majority of the swimmers and appears even on the beaches.
  • the super freeback (which takes again the closed back) will make a short appearance in 1983 but the success of the super flyback will not have.
  • the super proback , in 1985, improves the super flyback by reinforcing the straps and by stripping the medium of the back. This type of the shirt, most powerful at the time, is then imitated by other manufacturers like Speedo, Tribord, Tyr, Dolfin or Adidas after the separation of the two marks.
Arena will also market male shirts taking again the serigraphy and the cut of the female shirts. Thus, the “cut”, “supercut” and “hypercut” correspond respectively to the flyback , super flybak and super proback .

It will be necessary to await the end of the Années 1990 so that new hydrophobic matters and the combinations of competition appear.
