Batangas

Batangas is a province of the Filipino locates at the South-east of the island of Luçon, with the Area of Calabarzón. Its capital is Batangas City, and its borders are the provinces of Surges and Laguna in north, Quezon in the east, the island of Mindoro in the south and the China Sea in the west.

Batangas is one of the destinations more popular for the foreign tourists and buildings. The seas are excellent for the diving. And time for the voyage is not very long. More popular destinations include Anilao with the Municipality of Mabini, Matabungkay and Punta Fuego with the Municipality of Nasugbu, Laiya to the Municipality of San Juan, and the Municipality of Calatagan.

The Volcano Taal, one of the Decade Volcanos, is localized in Batangas. The crater of the Volcano is a lake, the reason for its name `Lac on in Lake'.

The Municipality of Taal is popular for its embroideries, knives, sausages. It also reigns, with Vigan City, like the city colonial better preserved.

It is also the `Cœur of the Tagalog Language'.

Name

The first name in record of the province is Kumintang. The Spaniards change the name of Kumintang has Bonbon, and then has Balayan, after the capital and the cities more progressive.

When the Spaniards transferred the capital has Batangas, the name of the province changed has Batangas too.

The word Batangas derived from `Batang', the name local for a raft. It is because the natives use the batang to sail Rivier Calumpang and the Lake of Taal.

The terminology Batangueño or Batangueña means person or thing of Batangas. But lately, the local ones use the old word `Batangan' as adjectival which means something with relation has Batangas.

People

Batangas is the `Cœur of the Tagalog Language' because the dialect of Tagalog which is spoken here resembles Tagalog before the newcomer of the Spaniards in 1521. This dialect is popular for the use of the particle `eh' or `ga', is equivalent has `Ba' in Manila.

English is of course universally because more of local are well informed. Lately, the migration of the South makes Visayas important a minority.
