Basilica San Giorgio Maggiore of Venice
San Giorgio Maggiore is a Venetian church located on small the island of the same name in the basin of Saint-Marc, vis-a-vis Piazetta.
Started in 1566 with Andrea Palladio, it is completed one century later by Simone Sorella. The church is famous for its chorus decorated with fabrics of the Tintoret: the Basket (wall of left) and especially Cène (wall of right-hand side), one of the most famous fabrics of the Master.
On the right chorus, a door leads to the room of the conclave where took place the election of the pope Pie VII. It is decorated with a Retable of Vittore Carpaccio.
